Ready for First Light?
... after two weeks and a significant amount of working hours, I'm getting closer to first light. There are still some things to do to get the telescope housing finished, but in case weather conditions will change accordingly, I can try for first light... First tests of telescope movements clearly indicates that a direct drive mount is sensitive on telescope balance especially for larger optics as well for longer tubes like a newton design. Within RA I've some ozillations and DK is not running well.... And the optics are not well alligned (still some time left before change of weather conditions expected) - so a lot of room for improvements - but it's time to find out, if I can get with my CCD into focus and and and...
